Deep Sea Fishing - Pavones EcoBeach Resort

Pavones Eco Beach Resort is located on the Golfo Dulce, along Costa Rica's extreme southern pacific coast. Golfo Dulce is roughly 400 sq. miles of 82 degree water; and this is the ideal spawning grounds for bait fish. Many exotic varieties of sport fish abound within the gulf, year round, and at the mouth is the Pacific Ocean and deep blue water teaming with game fish. 700 lb. marlins are not uncommon.

Catch and release is the standard practice, so bring your camera and lots of film. If you decide to eat your catch, our chef will be happy to prepare and cook your fish the way you want it.

At Pavones Eco Beach Resort, we offer you the unique opportunity to tangle with pacific sailfish, blue, black & striped marlin, dorado, wahoo, yellow fin tuna, big eye tuna, blue fin trevally, snook, jack crevelle, corvina, amberjack, triple tail, rainbow runner, grouper, red & yellow snapper, barracuda, roosterfish, permit, pompano, bonita and sierra mackerel..all in the same day!
Sailfish, marlin, tuna, wahoo, roosterfish, mackerel, mahi mahi and snapper are being caught regularly. It is the abundance of billfish that has made this south Pacific Costa Rica area famous, with sailfish and marlin being taken in phenomenal numbers. Golfito and Zancudo are ports out of which you can go fishing.
Do you want to get even closer to the action?
How about swimming with sailfish and marlin? Once a few sails have surfaced, slip into the water. The marlin may be a little shy, but the sailfish seem oblivious to human presence. They'll change color before your eyes. Their sails flare and fold as they stalk and then charge their prey. This is the thrill of a lifetime.
